Dear business owners and entrepreneurs:

You've got a new Idea — Now What?

You are swamped, and your team is busy to the hilt.

What do you do? Let your idea wait or time out?

I hope not! Could you not enlist help of someone who might activate and develop your idea(s), harness available excess capacity within the organization, and take your ideas to fruition?

You've got a great sales team. They sell; you successfully deliver and service your customers well. Your sales teams are rewarded for finding new customers — They sign up the business, move on and harvest new customers! Business seems good. Revenues seem to grow.

But, how's your bottom line growing? Or, is it? How's the cashflow?

Are you getting all the business possible from your current customers?

Or, is your competition in there, too?

I hope not! How close are you to your customers? Are you just a product/service supplier, or do you position yourself as a solution provider — reducing their pain; helping them solve their problems; enhancing their outcomes? What else can you do for your customers? Have you grabbed all the business your customers have? How do you ensure their loyalty to you so your competition won't lure them away from you? Do your customers look up to you for help — need for other products and services, solutions, business strategy, and so on ..... ?

You have employees! Sincere, hard working, real assets to you ... Your organization stands for certain values. You do share your values with your employees and customers.

What values do your employees exhibit in dealing with your customers?

Do they simply carry out management orders and just do their tasks, or are they also given an opportunity to contribute ideas and think of creative ways to serve customers better?

Do your employees understand your value system, and practice your values? Are they aligned to the purpose of the organization?

How well are your values communicated to employees and in turn to your customers?

How are your values being reflected in all of your customer transactions/interactions?

Those are but examples of some areas where special initiatives can make a difference in your business results.

May be you are on top of everything, and are able to maximize your opportunities for improvement and growth. Well, great! Congratulations!!

Or, may be, you are so caught up in running the business and keeping up with the market pressures that loose ends might be flying around.

That's where you could engage me as
your business advisor and mentor.

Let me give you a hand — as a catalyst in your endeavor — to activate, develop and execute your untried and dormant ideas; harness your existing resources to enhance business results; identify and highlight new business possibilities; help implement developmental initiatives like employee loyalty, customer-focus, evolution of products and services; validate different initiatives and projects underway from standpoint of relevance and usefulness; brainstorm and uncover solutions, opportunities and outcomes; support the management; help you grow revenues and profits.

Let us explore. Call me today at 613-800-4896. Or, send me an email.

As your business advisor/mentor, how can I help?

Whether you have a successful business, or you are challenged, overwhelmed or struggling, I can be your ally — a catalyst to help you achieve and further your business objectives.

You may retain my services for ongoing help, or engage me for periodic and/or occasional consultations or on a contract assignment. I'm accountable for results; I deliver value! I will bring fresh thinking to your endeavor.

I can make contributions in one or more of these different areas.

1 Operations support — handling your day-to-day operations and general management functions to relieve the business owner(s) / entrepreneur(s) to focus on business development and growth;
2 Management Advisory support — as a sounding board, observer or facilitator for management meetings, to provide support in problem resolution, vision, direction and strategic planning;
3

Business development initiatives — in conjunction with your product, service delivery, marketing and sales teams,

  • identify and develop additional revenue avenues;
  • design new solutions and services;
  • repackage current offerings;
  • create strategies to get more of your customers' business;
  • evaluate and augment your programs to enhance value to customer;
  • do something different to enhance results:
    • uncover possibilities;
    • exploit opportunities;
    • capture new marketplace demands;
    • exploit new trends & technologies;
    • differentiate yourself.
4

Customer focus — promoting strategies such as:

  • Is your business transaction-oriented, or relationship-focused?
  • Do your customers keep buying from you?
  • Do your customers act as your ambassadors in the marketplace?
  • Do you know how much your customers' need you fulfill?
  • How is their experience in dealing with your organization? Perhaps, it will improve if your customers, prospects and visitors always have a satisfying and memorable experience in every signle contact with your organization; if you create an emotional bond with them, they will love to do all their business with you.
5

Employee development and performance improvement:

  • Are your employees committed to your business and giving their best?
  • How is the morale among your employees?
  • Do you get value from your investment in them?
  • Do they simply carry out orders, or are they motivated to take initiatives and produce new ideas?

Your employees are your greatest asset. You can align your troops to your purpose, by articulating and promoting your business vision; by helping employees appreciate their role in the organization (as opposed to feeling like a proverbial cog-in-the-wheel); by eliciting everyone's commitment to realize your vision.

6 Operational effectiveness: Is there scope for improvement in operational efficiencies? A review of your operations, costs, processes and work flow might reveal opportunities and avenues for expense reduction, quality improvement, efficiencies, economies of scale, time to deliver goods and service, and so on.

I am versatile, quick study, results-driven and customer-focused. Articulate communicator, an avid listener and a problem solver, I have a knack for generating possibilities, identifying opportunities and implementing action.

My Business Background

My name is Anil Agrawal. I am a small-business veteran, intrapreneur and entrepreneur, consultant, trainer, coach and a manager — experienced in startup, development and growth of small business. I would summarize my life experience in supporting people, generating possibilities and creating results.

From 1975-1980, I worked as a regional manager for two data processing service companies in India; I set up a new location and initiated and delivered DP services in tough competitive markets.

In 1981, soon after I came to Canada, I joined a large consulting company, and initiated a new office automation venture based entirely on new technologies in first-time computer user environments. This venture generated professional services revenue of $2.7 Million, and established a legitimate new business avenue for the company.

This was a unique intrapreneurial opportunity to pioneer new technologies and train brand new computer users in carrying out daily office functions on computers. I led and managed three teams of systems engineers and other technical professionals. All of the systems became fully operational, manual processes were stopped, and users took over the operations and management of all systems.

In 1988, at the time when new technologies were emerging, I embarked on an entrepreneurial journey — I launched, established and ran two high tech systems and training companies (LanVision Corporation and NetVision Inc). I pioneered new technology implementation in first-time user environments, trained regular users to become self-sufficient in operating and managing technology in the workplace, and evangelized adoption of new technologies by users.

In 1994, I launched another company, CareerPro Training Inc, and initiated several technology retraining programs for the unemployed people from diverse backgrounds, and helped them rehabilitate in brand-new technology careers.

At the end of 1996, I sold off my companies, and have been pursuing business consulting services since.

During 1999-2000, I launched an e-Learning venture, and promoted e-Learning in the small and medium enterprise (SME) marketplace. However, the market was too slow in adopting e-Learning, and I made a business decision to phase the operation out in 2000.

I am now dedicated to providing business advisory and mentoring service to small and medium size businesses, entrepreneurs and professionals, focused on customer-service & productivity improvement, operational efficiency, and management effectiveness.
