Thanks for dropping by.

I am Anil Agrawal, a high-tech industry entrepreneur, businessman, employer, manager, trainer and a consultant for over 25 years. In my different roles, I have acted as a "mentor" for many years worked with, groomed and guided people of all kinds.

My key attributes that served in mentoring people include eye for detail and a knack for troubleshooting, and the ability to unravel the obvious, discern possibilities, and uncover and develop opportunities.

Through my experience, I have come to firmly believe that people have potential. While people may seem to falter, fret about or fail, in reality, people by and large have the capability to handle their tasks and responsibilities, and deliver on their commitments.

What holds people back at times is self-doubt and confusion—lack of focus and unclear purpose, impatience for detail, subjectivity, fear of rejection or failure, and perhaps a need for approval or a strong need to be right. These conditions can impede an individual's momentum, and often impact personal effectiveness.

In most situations, especially when trouble starts, all they often need is a catalytic support — a sounding board that provides feedback and validation. A mentor can help. Timely support can make a difference — enhancing their productivity, performance and effectiveness.

As a mentor, I implicitly trust my protégés having the required expertise and innate desire to achieve success and deliver quality; and willing to reevaluate their own choices and the decisions made, accept change, take necessary action, and be accountable. Given that, they are typically open to receiving honest input—tough questions, candid assessment, even critique—without taking things personally.

Custom Mentoring Service & Additional Services:

i) For sessions at client's site To mentor groups of people, attend a meeting, site visits, team sessions, brainstorming and meeting facilitation, workshops, etc. — $127 per hour (2 hours minimum at a time).

ii) For additional telephone/chat sessions, for document review and feedback, for research requested by a client, and such additional activities — $27 per 15 minute segment, or $97 per hour.

iii) For face-to-face meetings in my office in Ottawa area — $127 per hour (minimum), and $67 per 30 minute segments.

iv) For out-of-town travel — $997 per 8-hour day (minimum one day at a time), plus actual travel, living and miscellaneous expenses.

I will provide a customized proposal to suit specific needs. Please email me your statement of requirement.

Payment terms: For a custom proposal, payment terms will be negotiable.

Charges for additional services will be billed to the client at the end of the month.

TEST-DRIVE my Mentoring service

Anil Agrawal -- Your MentorIf you decide to test-drive my mentoring service, call me and get to know me. If you feel comfortable, test mentoring out for one month, and determine what it is worth to you.

This is what will happen within the 30 day period:

i) You and I will have two telephone or web chat sessions; during these sessions you will be in command; we will get to know each other; you can highlight your major issues and your specific needs; and discuss whatever is important to you.

ii) We will communicate via emails — You may discuss or seek my opinion on day-to-day matters, decisions you want to make, opportunities you are pursuing, etc.;

iii) You may occasionally call me for quickies, and we can share thoughts.

In 30 days, if you feel you have got your money's worth, we will continue the relationship month-after-month. If not, I would request you to give me your candid feedback as to what your experience was like during our 30-day contact, and you can terminate the relationship, no questions asked.

If, however, you feel happy with the service, you may purchase the service for a month at a time renewable at month-end, or for a block of time—3 months, or 6 months.

How does Mentoring Work?
My aim of Mentoring — To boost your Personal Effectiveness!

Mentoring is — Leveraging your own endeavor with
a new perspective from someone else.

Anil Agrawal -- Your MentorMentoring can work in two modes entirely at your discretion:

1) Unstructured: You are in the driver's seat — The mentor acts in a responsive mode — There is no requirement for a preset agenda, or specific predefined goals.

You are in command of each session — determine the purpose, agenda and the outcomes — fully in charge of making the best of each contact with your mentor. Of course, throughout our contact, we will maintain purposefulness and focus on issues at hand and on your best interest.

2) Structured — You are still in the driver's seat inasmuch as you have predetermined what you want to accomplish and what specific help you need —The mentor acts on your agenda and responds to your needs.

You and the mentor will have worked out a broad-based plan for the month or a quarter, define an agenda and intended outcomes, work towards them, and stay on track. The mentor monitors progress and caters to your specific change requirements and reprioritization.

In either mode, whereas the mentor steers the process, the client defines the intended purpose and desired outcomes.

Intent is to bolster client's personal endeavor—be it handling an issue, finding solutions or approaches to problems on hand, or tackling an opportunity. The mentor prods the client to think deeper and wider, dig the truth within and/or in the environment, design a framework for outcomes, solutions and strategies, and create plans of action.
